I tried this approach and always been ignored. Granted I have a pretty empty profile with no pictures of me. I tried to contact them, commenting on the stories about random things and never commenting on their appearance, but no results

Is it a complete random person? Doesn't seem like it if you know where they're regular at. I'd spray a few lines & like on her post. Then post something relevant on yours.

What works for me is just commenting when she posts a story and then start to build a conversation from there. By the way she responds you can figure out if she likes you (at least your looks) and ask her out.
