This is my first post ever on r/Seduction, so I hope I don't make a ton of newbie mistakes writing this. However, I apologize in advance if I do. (Originally posted this in Ask Seddit, but realized that wasn't the place to post Field Reports).

So, I was invited to a older friend's place in the city last night and I had a few drinks prior to going there and was definitely in a sociable mood before going there. When I arrived at the party, I mingled with the people I knew and caught up with some people I hadn't seen in a while. Shorty afterwards, I proceeded to the drinks station and while standing there, a very attractive girl, standing in front of me, proceeded to turn around and fill my empty cup with some of her alcohol (it seemed she had poured a tad too much). Anyways, I took it as a sign of interest and began a conversation with her. Very quickly we both hit it off and started to have a great conversation about her. I started teasing her a bit and making some jokes, to which she remarked that "I was very funny". She started talking about how she is a nurse and I started to inquire more about that, which shaped the conversation to be a great one. Eventually, I moved to a slightly quite place in the living room and started talking to her and started flirting with her more directly, to which she seemed to respond favorably and went along with it. I started lightly touching her arms and escalating very slowly, and we continued to have a great conversation. A few minutes later, however, she said she had to leave to catch-up with her friend at the party and I bid her farewell.

A while later, we made eye contact again, and she came over and started chatting up again. Again, I started to flirt with her and escalate, but I didn't do it very quickly and aggressively. However, I got her laughing and was definitely teasing her. A bit later, one of her good guy friends arrived at the party and immediately as he came, they started hanging out and slowly moved away from where I was. Not trying to be needy and desperate, I respected it and caught up with some friends at the party.

The entire night, she spent hanging out with the guy and I didn't feel like approaching her since it seemed as though she wasn't interested and I was not very fixated on her anyways. But, regardless, I am curious to know perhaps what I did wrong and how I could better try closing the situation next time.
