Getting back into the game after a decade. Before you just asked for a number but now it seems like there is choice of number, snapchat, instagram, and facebook. Which should I ask for nowadays?

I generally just ask for their number, but as others have said social media can do some social proofing for you without putting in much effort.

For this, I find Snapchat generally works best. I'm usually hiking or producing music in my off time or generally just hanging out and having a good time and post that all to my story. Paints a picture of your life outside of work without you having to really try.

I hear ya, I was out of the game for years (in a LTR) so this past year has been weird for me. I knew of Tinder, but had never used it before so I had no clue how to really pull results.

As far as Snapchat losing popularity, I'd say that's a negative. There was some fuss about a recent UI update but they have sense changed it to resemble their older version.

Veteran advice is to stop asking for numbers, go for instadates.

But Facebook is a no.

Snapchat is good, but you have to learn the medium.

Instagram is good, only if your Instagram looks good. If she goes through you 'gram and wishes she could do that, it is good. If not....

Numbers are still the tried and true, but the younger generation prefers snaps.

Social media is great as it allows you to know a little bit more about the girl but most importantly to let her know about yourself.

So I would choose the one that you use the most. That way you look more socially active and interesting to her.

I usually go for Snapchat these days. It’s way easier to flirt over Snap than over text since you can use a picture. I wouldn’t say it’s losing popularity. There was a pretty big revolt after the redesign, but they didn’t lose a ton of users. They’ve also changed the design again recently to make it a bit closer to what it was before. (E.g., they separated the stories from be chats again.)
