Went to a music festival this weekend, I live in Colorado so lots of people were smoking and this guy gave me a joint so I was somewhat stoned and feeling loose. A girl cut in front of me in the crowd and started dancing pretty close to me and I had the sense that she wanted me to dance with her, but I had no idea how to approach dancing in this way since I don't really go clubbing. So I didn't do anything and eventually she drifted back into the crowd behind me. The weird this is some guy came up behind this other girl near me and kind of pounced on her and grabbed her waist but it was clear she was kind of uncomfortable with the whole situation. A random guy came up and pretended he knew her and gave her a hug to pull her away from the other guy who basically took her hostage. It seems like such a nuanced form of communication but are there any guidelines to initiating this sort of thing without it being overly aggressive?
