Right I am 20 y.o in first year of college. Never had a girlfriend before just some crushes.

Now my gut instinct tells me that this girl might be interested in me and I think she’s cute and I would like to date her.

But right now we haven’t spoken that much because I don’t see her often.

When I next see her I plan on just doing a bit of confident small talk... and then just before I leave the conversation I’ll let her know that I want to take her out on a date.

Does that sound like a good plan? I’m not experienced but since starting college I have been way more confident in general.
