Coffee shops. Go there and do some work on your laptop, take a break once in awhile to talk to a girl who is sitting down, waiting for her coffee, or a barista.

Although some neighborhoods are easier to get around than others, La is pretty spread out and requires a little bit of creativity to getting the right setting to interact with girls. There are a plethora of common places to meet girls. Try going to coffee shops, farmers markets, malls, bars, lounges, and even places where girls work. This is likely a routine and rote effort as it likely will be awhile before any results come. There are different times of the day that work well. Try waking up early before work or try after work and evenings; nighttime isn’t the only time to meet people.

Some neighborhoods are more walkable than others which is good for running into girls. Lime scooters or bikes work well for moving from one area to another. Some companies hold events after work. They might be recruiting events or they may be regular get togethers but do watch out for them. People like to walk their dogs, and walking your dog is an easy way to break the ice with another dog walker. Also, if you live in an active neighborhood and decide to crash parties, make sure to byob; I threw a moving out party and had random youth crash it. Also, make an effort to build up a group of friends; talk to people, add them on snap or insta and keep in touch.

As for living with parents, it can be financially beneficial; you can always rent an Airbnb on the weekends.

Do not expect 100% success rate. Not every girl you meet will reciprocate. Just talk and see where it takes the convo. Do not care about the ones that aren’t interested. If one says no/I have a bf/sorry/etc then move on to the next one. If anything, ask for their Instagram. It’s a non-threatening way to stay connected and show off your life, even if they’re taken. Also, do approach groups. You have nothing to lose and a girl to gain. Apps helps but as one user said: they are just another channel. DM me if you want someone to hang with in La.
