So I met this girl about a year ago. Super weird, super cute, lots of issues but ticks quite a few boxes. We chatted for the first few weeks, went on a couple coffees together and she said she’s not that type of girl who just hooks up with guys off the bat etc, which is the type of girl I am looking for at this stage in my life. She comes from a pretty conservative(ish) family, not like a hardcore Christian or anything, just a bit more reserved.
We were talking regularly as per normal, then she started flaking. She’d start a convo with me, we’d chat, and then she’d flake mid-convo. This would happen throughout the year.
She told me she has big mental health issues, I’m not sure how ‘big’ they are — she seemed pretty okay and looked like she was dramatising it a bit. She is also super career orientated, she said that's why her and her ex broke up. Now, I ignored her for a long while after she flaked and then she asked to go get dinner, but I was busy. Then, again, she asked to go do something and cancelled last minute.
I then kinda hinted that we should do something and she shrugged it off. Now, I have her reacting to all my instagram stories with questions or messages, then when I respond she doesn’t even open it.
This has been an occurrence all year.
How should I approach this girl? I am 27 years old, I have never had an issue with women, I would say I have slept with around 10 girls in my life and had 1 long-term relationship. For some reason, I have a lot of feelings for this girl, despite only engaging with her in person 3-4 times. What the fuck is going on here? Can anyone who has experienced something similar give me insight? I can’t handle the fucking with my head, at the same time, I’ll look (and feel) like a dickhead if I block and delete her shit and act like I’m in my feelings big time — and I barely know her / met her 3 times - how embarrassing. I shouldn’t be feeling this way toward this girl. Now I'm afraid to ask her to do something, in fear of rejection. I shouldn't give a fuck, and never have before until recently.
Should I be honest with her and say I like you and wanna spend more time with you but you keep pushing me away/flaking on me? My gut instinct tells me this is a big fucking no, I've never done something like that, and I feel like this is a sign of weakness toward women that will push them away from you -- "The more you chase a woman the faster she will run away", "we all want what we cant have" -- I always stuck to these ideas, but I'm fucked up here and don't know how to proceed.
