Hey bud, these kind of situations are super-common and that doesn't stop them from also being super-frustrating!

This is a more baffling situation than others because from what you've said she has been quite flirtatious, and also in her texts to you she has been relatively forward.

So I can't infer anything done 'wrongly' or wrongly enough to warrant the blowoff - But I think it's important to realise that this isn't necessarily a full on blowoff - Perhaps it is, but it's hard to say.

So reasons this may be happening:

1) She's recently single and enjoying flirting but not 100% sure she wants to date again yet - perhaps she wants some time to process first

2) Perhaps she was just networking and swapping numbers with lots of people who could be useful - She wants to keep you as a viable networking potential but doesn't want to date you - She hasn't learned the difference between professional flattery, and flirting.

3) Perhaps she likes you, but not enough to want to commit to anything yet - Perhaps there was another guy she met that night that she wants to date first to see if she gets along with him better.

4) Perhaps she just craves male attention even if she's not that interested in a guy - she has learned that flattery gets a LOT of attention from males and so is very uncalibrated and ends up leading lots of guys on.

There are many reasons this could be happening honestly, the above are just the obvious ones that come to mind.

Were I in your shoes, I'd still pester her again in a few days with a different date idea - just be playful when you ask her on another date.

A couple of things, she either wanted attention or you put her off somehow. She probably just wanted attention, that excuse she gave was really shit but in the long run it doesnt matter. Don't message her again unless she hits you up first.
