I wouldn't. But anyone willing to try might want to bypass the fact that every guy asks baristas out so they have more ways to casually reject dudes and bros then there are one liners with the indirect approach. Get to know them. Get to be the guy that busts on other guys that ask them out. This implants the idea in their head that you arent one of those guys. And that is your in. Good luck. (For the record this is basically the advice i gave a friend who ended up with the barista he liked. No promises that it will work for you.)

Next time you order a cup of coffee and she drops one of these ioi’s hand her back the receipt and casually say, “You forgot your number.”

Ask her to meet up with you after work. Getting her number will put her on the spot and cause social pressure. Joke around at first and say something like, "Can I get a100 cups of coffee, please? Be funny and you'll get more IOIs.
