Dude, you are so young and we've all fucked up opportunities. Try to reframe them as learning opportunities and take whatever you can from them.

I used to be just as terrified at flirting as you, it still does terrify me sometimes. But I've been around long enough go know that the feeling of regret you get is so much worse than anything that could happen from flirting and you should never forget that.

Accepting that, just plan on taking a shot at every opportunity you want to go for. Every single one. Plan on it. It's easier than it sounds. Before you go out, just look in the mirror and instead of saying something like "I can do this," say "I will do this," this being taking those shots you struggle with now. If you see someone you want to approach, you will approach them. If you find yourself in a nice conversation, you will try to initiate physical contact and escalate from there. If all this goes well, you will go for the kiss. Take the decision-making and over-thinking and subsequent anxiety and just chuck it out the window. You are now a robot programmed to act on your desires. Beep boop beep.

I'm sorry to hear about your hearing issues, I don't have a hearing aid but I've seemed to struggle more than most hearing in loud locations like bars and clubs. Just saying I can relate a bit, but think of it as the perfect excuse to get someone alone so you can talk privately, which is usually a great move. But the difficult part is going to be hitting it off with them a bit and then asking them that. It honestly might be a weakness you just need to work around and you might just have to accept that you do better in quieter settings. I feel for you but we all play to our strengths.
