I've had this happen quite a few times. I have real trouble with escalating things. Note, I don't meet women are bar / clubs. These are all just through life experiences.

Normally you'll meet someone, they'll feel mildly interested. You get to know them in the social setting over say a few interactions, maybe a month. Often if you're going well she will start flirting fairly obviously, giving you long stares in the eyes, seeming really happy in your company. Wanting to be near you. Smiling at you, laughing with you etc.

I get here fairly easily. The problem is, it always seems hard for me to go for a number or do anything more. I'm filled with uncertainty and there always seems some blocker.

Then what seems to happen is after they've had a flirt with you and you don't escalate, they withdraw next time. Throwing another curb ball to you. Then quite often they'll come back for a bit more interest and enjoy your company, but if you don't do something fairly quickly at this point often they will not only reduce the interest, but for whatever reason seem to outright dislike you moving forward. Suddenly if anything they seem cranky at you! I've had this reaction a few times now and I don't know wtf for. Women I was friendly with and seemed interested suddenly outright disliking me.
