I mean, did you talk to them? If you just go up and stand next to / in front of them and dance, that's not an approach. You probably are not showing any of your real intent to them, or if you are it's done in a very insecure way and they can tell. If you want to dance WITH them, at least introduce yourself first and then dance with them, but make physical contact early with them by touching their hands, elbows, back or something. Essentially you have to do something that makes you open to rejection by them or you will not get anywhere. And then at some point you're going to have to pull the trigger and ask them to come with you somewhere that you can be more alone (or even better, take their hand and lead them there).

Editing more: Just want to clarify that I'm not hating on you, but we have to be honest with ourselves. If you didn't get any outright rejections, you were not really approaching, you were just standing around. Next time actually say hi, introduce yourself to a girl, and take her hand or her arm to dance with her.

It seems like the girls didn't want to mingle with u. U approached them, they clearly saw your approach, but didn't reciprocate in return. U didn't do anything wrong, u didn't even have a chance to do anything wrong. Maybe tailor yourself to be more attractive, like shoes, clothing, hairstyle etc. Also ask yourself why do other guys were given the chance to slide in while u were not, what do they have that u don't.
