Hapless guys in the game?

Being one of these "ultimate failures" myself, I'm not sure what to think, when reading something like this:

Going through a thread like that, it's just... I can't believe it's that bad. Say it ain't so.

I don't understand how to parse the truth. The amount of RPism going on with that thread--folks by the dozen, explaining how the game for men is mostly just status, and hookups/casual is only for 6 foot+ and socially smooth--leaves no room for the hugely disadvantaged man to want to stand up. There's nothing in that thread that says "you guys who were beaten out of competing in life, because of social/other difficulty you never asked for, should believe there's a decent woman waiting for you to approach." Nothing.

All I see there is dozens of messages telling the guy he's right, it's the good job that led these women to him, and for no other reason.

Is all hope offered to lesser-abled guys merely stage dressing? What am I to believe of the voices of hope, some that go into great detail about this whole "mindfulness, stop hating yourself, stop comparing myself, don't use online dating but meet women, learn to converse, the rest shouldn't matter too much." And then the rest of you are all "status and money, that's it, nothing else."

Where is the truth, man?

Have you seen my posts before? Do you know my situation? I'm not a spring chicken anymore, exactly. The "ultimate failure" thing in the first line, should have clued you in.

I suppose trying is better than not trying, at least there is a chance. But when you have no chance, what's the use? Some guys--because society is quite strict about things like age-related accomplishments, gender roles, normalcy--don't have any chance. They either never had one--just got screwed--or lost all chances due to inaction, avoidance, giving up on life. I'm a bit of both, but mostly the second IMO.

I'll grant you rumination has never helped. But logical analysis also can realize that some tasks, including what we call "seduction, game, finding someone for romanz/sensuality," are just the realm of fantasy for some. Wonder what might have been, if I hadn't been cursed with some genetic social disorder, etc. What else. I'd prefer to act--but with these odds? Would you act with these odds?

What fucking planet are you on? You literally contradict yourself at every point. Yes, trying is better than not trying. Not trying at all is "no chance". Nobody has no chance at all. You just tell yourself that so you don't feel bad for not trying.

What the fuck are you talking about odds for? Do you want a guarantee? Fuck that. There's only one guarantee in life and that's death. Nobody on the fucking planet has a 1:1 pickup to rejection ratio. I've been shot down more times than I've blown loads.

Just admit that it's not society, genetics, money, status or any of the excuses you keep making and its actually you. You are afraid to change. You are afraid to fail. Not trying is your way to avoid failure.

I have a collection of body destroying, life limiting diseases, most of which exists solely to make me look uglier and uglier. Instead of jerking myself off with my own tears, I tell myself to quit bitching and do something about it.

I break the law of averages on a daily basis because I'd rather die standing than be a pussy who gave up and begged for sympathy on the internet. When people put me down, I see it as a challenge. When I put myself down, I see it as a call to action. When I feel truly hopeless, I know I'm aiming for something that I really value.

So to answer your question

Would you act with these odds?

Fuck yes.

That's entirely why you SHOULD act.

Increase your odds.

Defy the odds.

Be your own fucking saviour.
