How much does asking questions and "showing genuine interest" help?

Helps a ton.. IF it’s genuine ;). If you have genuine interest then a conversation is easy as fuck to have. That’s what helps. Barring that you need to fall back to open ended question to learn more about the subject and see if you are interested.... if not then move on.

Doesn’t matter if she is hot. If she loves monster trucks and you think they are stupid as shit then don’t fake it. You should also let her know what you don’t like. If what you don’t like is a dealbreaker for her then don’t bother.

If she doesn't, and sees you as a friend, it makes it worse.
