I know you wrote it as an offhanded comment, but I've been in your shoes and I want to offer some practical advice for anyone skimming this thread.

The roleplaying really won't help you much. If full approaches are still an in issue, there's two things you should be doing:

Going up to women and offering a compliment. This will chip away at your AA.
Start talking to everyone. Figure out which shops/cafes/etc are the employees encouraged to chit-chat. Start there. Look them in the eye. Be charming.

When you find that wing, you should be using each other to push yourselves towards approaches. After that, you'll offer some camaraderie when you inevitably get rejected.

Again, I know you were just offering up an idea – probably one you weren't too keen on. But so many men are focused on theory/talking/etc. You need to turn that into action.
