Seems like you’ve put women on the pedestal, man.
Your new year resolution was to go on a date? The underlying tone of this suggests you’ve had a “needy” mindset for far too long. Now it seems like you’re looking to compensate to the other extreme and sideline women completely.
You have to find the middle ground. You mentioned a few times that you don’t consider yourself good looking. Does your self-improvement include gym and exercise? Also, have you taken it upon yourself to improve your fashion sense? Do you have a solid wardrobe and a decent haircut etc? All of these things add up to your overall appearance.
Don’t ever pay for sex or a date. If you fix your confidence / esteem issues, improve your appearance (clothes, gym etc.) and read a book or two to up your social skills, it’s actually not that difficult to attract women. Don’t be needy ever. You are the prize. Not her.

I wouldn't call it a need so much as a want. I totally understand that dating or women are not necessary for me to live. It was just something that I wanted to experience before my time was up.

Yes, diet, exercise and lifting has been a core aspect of my self improvement.
And along with my proceeding weight loss I have had to change wardrobes twice, each time getting better in my opinion. Grooming and health has been a top priority in my daily routine for a while.

I only contemplate it because there is really no other recourse considering my situation.
I don't believe I'd go through with sex with an escort, but I would seriously consider doing it for a date or a kiss maybe. Just so I can experience it and know what it's like.

Haha, well. I'm 27 and I've never been able to attract any woman before in my life.
So I would not say it's easy in any sense of the word. At least not for me obviously.
If it were easy I figure it would have happened at some point, the entire process has proven much much more difficult than I imagined.

Sometimes its all just in our head. Looking beyond women/partner in life might actually increases your chances to get one. Seems like you are doing good.

Well considering I'm 27 and never had any woman consider me good looking, I don't thin it's in my head. At some point you just know that's the reality of the situation and you move from there.
It's a tough pill to swallow but there is merit to seeing that just because I'm not attractive doesn't mean I can't live a good life.
I look forward to that life even if it is void of dating and romance.

You know how do I look? Ofcourse you don't. I am 29 years old, skinny and 5 feet 3 inches tall. I am certain that I am not conventionally "good looking". I lost my virginity at 28. I have been with dozens of women since then. I just refuse to swallow that pill. It seems like you have taken rejections pretty badly. I feel that, but eventually you will learn to deal with them . I am not preaching . I understand that its different for everybody. Focusing on other things is a good idea. I will just ask you to not to loose hope.
