So I've just got the dreaded "you're a really nice guy, but lets just be friends blah blah blah" text after two dates. Classic playing it safe, and not escalating until too late. Should have known better, oh well.

Clearly I'm not going to take her up on the offer. I'd be interested in TRPs views on the way to respond (and I do want to respond, in my opinion not texting back risks making me look like I've taken it badly), making my choice clear and giving the impression it's no big deal and I have other options.

Slight complication in that girl is friends with my sister, so there's a fair chance we might cross paths in the future. I also want to minimise killing any chances I have with other members of her friendship group.

I've gone with, "thanks, but that's not going to work for me" in the past, which is effective and to the point but could perhaps be interpreted as slightly bitchy? (which is not a vibe I want to give out). Thoughts?
