Hey all. I've come to the realisation that simply going out solo isn't going to do it for me and is damaging my reputation and my image.....

Dude. If you're worried about damaging your rep, then you're really far off track. Nothing about game should risk this.

Cold approaching is actually a really advanced way to be going about this as a beginner. A lot of coaches focus on this method, partly because it's so difficult that their students will be really dependent on them. They're more likely to crash and burn hard and then want to pay out for more help.

Really, drop it the fuck down a few difficulty notches. There are less extreme ways to build this skill set. Cut yourself some slack! **Try attending a regular social event or group instead. Here are the benefits:

People go to those things warmed up, and open to talking to strangers.
Everyone attending wanted to be around new people.
There's often something interesting to do.

And here are some quick examples:

Hash house harriers; like hide and seek plus trail hiking with optional running and optional beer.
Social partner dancing; west coast swing, Lindy hop, Argentine tango, salsa. Great ways to meet people and work on social skills + physical escalation awareness.

.....and watching material and trying to execute it isn't enough at all.

Look, I no idea what the hell you been reading, but this shit is not so complicated. Necessary shit to do:

Active listening/Paying attention. if you've ever been bullied, then the awareness that you built up well on the lookout for bullies, is more than enough situational and social awareness for you to have the information you need in normal social interactions, like seduction.
Confidence. This is the part that does take a bit of a leap on your part, but give me the confidence to at least say hi to someone at a social event. But if you've been focused on your active listening and paying attention, then you'll have more than enough information to start a conversation.
Logistics. Assuming that at some point you want to have sex, you need a place and time for that to happen.

All the other shit, the tips and tricks that are often flying around about how you need to do a cold read or some other bullshit, isn't really true.
