Well I fucked up again recently. At my gym I have seen this girl there almost every night i'm working out, but I never approach in the weight area because I feel as if it is tough situation to do so. I always say to myself if I catch her leaving or entering the gym I'll talk to her.

Well, that opportunity was right in front of me tonight. We both went to the locker room at the same time, so I told myself this is the chance to catch her leaving and approach in a much better setting outside in the parking lot. As I leave the locker room, and get close to passing the women's, she walks out right in front of me.

My mind is racing. One half of me is thinking how to approach and what to say and to hurry up and run up to her, but the other half is trying to convince me to bail because of my anxiety. Guess which half one? I was a deer in headlights and didn't say a damn word.

The worst feeling in the world is not rising to the occasion and missing out on a perfect opportunity right in front of you. What did I have to lose? I would take 100 rejections over this feeling of missing out any day of the week, and yet I continue to do so. I told myself I will try again next week, because who knows I may never get another opportunity, and that is a terrifying thought to me. Maybe I'll listen this time.

Don't be like me.
