I didn’t lie in the title so I am really sorry if my question seems very stupid to some, or many/most of you peoples. I only started going to clubs/bars as that is where my current coworkers go to on days off (I prefer to play games or watch anime or fiddle with some weights at the comfort of my home in my free time). And even then I only sometimes join in for the “big ones” and today/yesterday was one of them. -One of my favourite coworkers is going overseas for a long while and it’ll be the last time we get to see him before he leaves the country.

So today at around 2am~ish I was dancing in a club with a few of my mates. We had already gone through a couple of drinks at another bar close by and we danced in there too so by then everyone was pretty pumped and feeling drunk. Justin was constantly going around on the dance floor looking for girls that would dance with him, Chad was right at the front near the DJ shifting between dancing and chilling, and Jaice who was going overseas got kicked out without any one of us noticing and he didn’t say a thing on Facebook/Messenger so none of us got to say good bye to him properly when that was pretty much my purpose for the night, Kaitlyn was dancing with a random guy again, and a few of us were still at the bar from before and whatnot. Everyone was everywhere and it was too difficult for me to keep track of.

Anyways as everyone who has been on a dance floor in a nightclub probably knows, there is not much space but very much people. And people will constantly try to go past you and move and walk around on the dance floor. Sometimes it’ll be guys and sometimes it’ll be girls. And although I was pretty smashed during the night I was still sort of aware of my surroundings.

If there was a girl dancing close by with her backside towards me, I would turn my back against her so at worst we would bump into each others backs. If I got surrounded by girls somehow (even though there are more guys on the dance floor) I would dance with both of my arms up in the air, and if a girl tried to go past me I would put both of my hands up to show I am not there to grope them while they pass by. I hate conflict. Although it may seem pretty hypocritical of me to go onto the dance floor then say this but I wish to avoid trouble wherever possible. So I do these things.

Continuing on, I was dancing and I see oncoming traffic. A girl and a guy following close by. As usual I lift up both of my hands head-level to show I am up to no mischief. But this time the passerby girl actually makes eye contact with me and even gives me a smile, and then proceeds to grab both of my hands.

This is where my question comes in. Wtf am I supposed to do? Guys, what would you have done if you were in my position? Girls, what would you want the guy to do in that situation?

I honestly thought the guy following her was her boyfriend or something so I just smiled back, did like one or two hand swaying motions with her along with the music and then let go.

I am unfortunately confident in saying that I am NOT better than average looking so it never crossed my mind that she might have actually been interested in having a conversation with me. Which brings me to my second question.

Girls would you make this kind of move on a guy out of pity? Like if they looked funny with both of their hands up head-level as if being arrested, looked lonely, or something along those lines?
