The only real gems in The Game are the discovery for many guys that game actually exists, the revelation that short, bald guys can be attractive if they dress up and groom up, and Neil's discovery of empathy game, being a really attentive and caring listener which can be good for high status girls like strippers and celebrities (and anyone else).

Lots more good material to read and watch on "modern" game.

I've read the book. Honestly, The Game should be viewed as an ancient text. The basics are there, but most of the game is outdated.

This was back when game was just getting mainstream, and many things such as "peacocking", "routines", and "negging" simply do not work anymore. Women have changed. Society has changed. Game must change, and it has.

I read it as a motivational piece of literature rather than a "step by step" how to.

Also, back then, PUAs were focused entirely on numbers. Quantity. Now, the PUA community has evolved into a lifestyle choice. We focus away from quantity and onto quality. Self improvement, reading, exercise, travel, language learning, etc. Getting a girlfriend/wife/asking out that cute girl in class, rather than fucking mindless hoes night after night.

I'm not saying guys like that don't exist, but they are far less than what they once were. That is why so many PUAs collapsed. Because in order to pull extreme quantities, you must resort to tricks and mind games.

The modern community is focusing on becoming the person you want to be, so you don't have to pretend or use those things. Real value, over deception.

Overall it's way more healthier and more of a center to cultivate masculinity, rather than learning how to be a man whore.

Opinion will likely be massively divided by this question.

I think 'the game' was just basically a fun read kind of based on 'mystery' who wrote 'the mystery method'. Not really a 'how too' book.

But here's the thing. I think it's largely a load of nonsense. Have you actually seen mysteries infields? They're odd. He's simply not a guy who i'd think of as being 'good at getting laid'!. He has a million rules and thing to remember, but he can't really seem to make them work for himself, meanwhile other guys are out there breaking all of his rules and doing better than him.

"Mystery" claimed to have had 'sexual contact' (not even full sex!) with 52 women from 1992 to 1998, but he was also going out 4 times a week, approaching 3 women per hour on average.

It's disappointing, but my experience (at least in this day and age) it's largely about whether she finds you physically attractive or not (in the first 2 seconds) and from that point, there's not much you can do about it, no matter how much 'game' you have, or how many DHV stories you can memorise or routines or teases etc. note, i'm mainly talking about young girls, and from cold approach

Maybe girls are more superficial than they used to be? Who knows. Maybe social media and online dating etc has really changed stuff more than we're properly aware of yet!

They guys I know who get laid the most break most of mysteries rules. They're simply decent looking guys who show their intent early without creeping the girl out.

You still need 'game' (basically the ability to come across somewhat confident and charasmatic) in order to close theh girils who are into you (unless she really thinks you are her 10/10 greek God looking guy in which case you just need to not piss your pants and you're good to go) but the days of having to remember to tease, neg, disqualify, qualify, give IOI's, give IOD's etc etc in a particular order have gone. If it 'worked' then we'd all be doing that stuff still, though! Obviously!
