If you're chatting or doing some other activity and she stays with you despite having other options, that's the best indicator of interest. If she hangs around with you, assume that she's into you.

No need to test her interest by escalating the physical touch. It's good to learn how to do it, but not all guys can do it smoothly, the logistics are not always right, and some girls are not receptive to it even when they are into you.
