So, I was sort of in a good mood today. Decided to attempt talking to women, I went out alone. Started out by going to Walmart. To start, I saw a middle aged woman in the parking lot in a bit of a situation searching for a shopping cart receptacle. So, I said, "Looks like you need some help. Let me take that for you." She thanked me and I continued into the store. I was planning on putting it back into the store, but as I was walking in an attractive young girl was waiting behind a group of people looking for a cart. So, I simply told her to take this one as I had no use for it. Unfortunately, I did not progress the conversation any further, she thanked me and I continued inside. (I would love to hear your input on what you would have done)

Overall, I was feeling good about myself walking into the store. However, the rest of the day was plagued by missed opportunities and chickening out. I found myself walking by girls in the store and not having the courage to say anything. I decided to go for a change of scenery and went to the University nearby, where I had graduated 2 years previously. I walked around the campus and heard some commotion in the athletic building. There was a girls volleyball game going on and a huge crowd of people watching. It was free to watch, but I did not feel like watching it. Obviously, plenty of females in there. Should I have attempted something in here or would it be unwise to approach women trying to watch a sports game?

Now, it gets worse. When I was walking by the volleyball entrance there was a couple young girls watching through the doors from the outside, not sitting on the bleachers. One cute blonde turned around and looked at me as I walked in. We made eye contact and she smiled. I gave her a smile back. I didn't approach and kept moving on. Chickened out again.. This may have been my best opportunity all day and would like to hear what you guys would have done or said.

I kept going for my walk around the campus and seen a few situations that were okay, but not anything too interesting. There was a group of girls walking by chatting up a lot. I ended up walking by them and they went real quiet. I had a feeling they were whispering about me (in a good way). So, I suppose I could've attempted to stop that group of girls. Although, I had not talked to girls in a solo setting today, so it was unlikely I was going to stop an entire group.

I think the last situation that would have been a good approach was when I was walking near the food building. There was a cute girl walking to the dorm building with her meal card in her mouth, a bag of food in one hand, and looking at her phone in the other hand. She didn't even look up, but I thought she would've been a perfect approach. I had some ideas pop into my head about teasing her for the way she was juggling everything. She was a little bit far away, but we were walking towards each other most of the time. Unfortunately, I chickened out again and by the time I got to a good distance to her, she had already turned into the dorm area.

Overall, I just wanted to kind of write about this. I understand it's long. I want it to sort of be a log for myself, so I can keep track of progress. If you read through it, feel free to give input or let me know what you would have done. I want to become better. I would like to hear some of your progress stories of what you were like when you started compared to how you are now.
