Background: Using throwaway but active member of over 2 years. I know the drill. LTR of 1 year in transition between careers, also happens to be in the first few days of her monthly cycle (bleeding). I presume she was busy Monday because I didn't hear from her all day (unusual communication pattern) and I miss a call in the evening because sleeping.

I return her call in the morning, and hang up as usual. She calls back instantly asking me if everything is cool (I guess I was a tad dismissive, unintentionally, I was in the middle of something). I say yes and hang up.

She hasn't initiated conversation in days now, I've been busy, so not a huge deal. However, this is the second time this has happened now and I will NOT be setting this frame of "Oh if I ignore him, he'll initiate". Also, she typically messages me random shit throughout the day we talk about, but I've become aware of a reduction of her usual texting habits.

Based on the cycle-timing, I'd venture this to be a comfort test that I may have overlooked in my haste. However, she's been initiating less and less as of late unless I do first.

Ex: I don't hear from her for days. I initiate, and the floodgates open back up. WTF is this shit?

Notes: Passive dread is on point. In person - it's very obvious. Sex is still excellent and plentiful, and I have no indications via body language, her tone of voice that anything has changed. It's simply her texting investment that has changed.
