How do you end a conversation; especially when failed?

You tell them it was nice to meet them and you hope they have a great rest of the day/night. Then walk away. Always end positive.

If you start a conversation and feel you want to end it for any reason, all you need to do is smile and say one simple statement: "Anyway, I hope my chatting with you wasn't too much of a bother. Enjoy the rest of your day." Cold approaching anyone is always a little off-putting to that person. In my personal opinion, politely acknowledging that fact doesn't make you look weak or dumb. It shows empathy, something good people have and exhibit. Additionally, giving a genuine smile and saying (genuinely) "have a good day" indicates to the person that no one needs to talk to each other anymore, and everyone can walk away in a civil manner. If most men who approached me did this, I'd be less likely to be so apprehensive about chatting with people when they try to talk to me.

Feel the awkwardness, and just walk away. You don’t owe anything to that girl and she doesn’t either. It just feels weird but the more you do it, the less fucks you start to give
