I don't think u/rich_god meant that you shouldn't talk about stuff that's interesting. Rather, he meant that you shouldn't try to get the girl interested in you - get her excited instead.

To add to that, some related thoughts that came to my mind:

1) don't talk too much (talking the girl to death is the easiest way to bore a girl who already knows she wants to fuck, and make her change her mind),

2) add emotional spikes (teasing, accusing her of being "naughty" and framing her as sexual, etc.).

But if the point of your post was

I'm left without knowing what to say when approaching a girl

and you want some pointers on initiating conversations, I can touch upon that as well.

Having a reason helps immensely. Imagine being told you have inoperable cancer and you will die in 2 months, you go in for hospice after 2 months of dread and the doctor tells you you somehow no longer have cancer and youre going to live a full life.

Have that energy, and you will succeed
