Thursday afternoon and continuing on into Friday, my depression hit me really hard

Saturday, I travelled to another city for a party just to see family and friends

Took two new photos of myself in the mirror, and at the weekend I had about 5 matches on Tinder, about 7 likes on Bumble, some more on Badoo

The new photos were much more obviously "Chadlike" (if I'm allowed to use that word) than the boring selfie I was using before

Incels talk about "chadfishing" - I honestly felt like I was doing the same thing simply using pictures of myself taken from a side on angle rather than from the front

So suddenly I noticed my matches and likes on all apps increasing considerably when I used a better picture of myself

One on Bumble who had previously ghosted me resumed talking when I put up the new pictures

Still yet others started conversations, which I'll get back to later

On Monday it was my birthday, and one thing I did was go down to a supermarket and in the fruit and vegetable aisle a girl caught my eye

I was wearing a black puffer jacket, white trainer shoes, blue jeans with pockets down the side

Anyway there were other people in the area between us but nonetheless this girl ended up looking me one, two, three, FOUR times, directly straight in the eyes and she was a young, slim, pretty blonde girl with blue eyes, certainly no older than 21 and quite possibly under 18

Did I make a mistake here by not directly approaching her? What would you have done in my situation? You have to remember that the girl looked like she could have been too young for me to be involved with anyway

Tuesday and today I've continued to have matches and likes on Tinder, Bumble and Badoo

A lot of them will often match for a little bit then will disappear or unmatch or whatever

Most of them I honestly have no idea what to say or how I should start a conversation

Also there seems to be a lot of girls pictured in thong bikinis and stuff like that now on dating app pictures or linked Instagram accounts

That would have been slutty in 2013; in 2019 it's almost the norm

And I honestly have no idea how you start a dating app conversation in 2019

The world has changed too much

Anyway there was this one girl on Bumble who seemed keen on me, gave me her phone number, and added her on WhatsApp

I tried to make the conversation implicitly, rather than explicitly, sexual and she went along with it

She asked for a selfie of me in addition to the new photos I took at the weekend

Despite all the weight loss, gym work and dieting I've been doing for months, I still don't look as good from the front as I do from the side

I sent her that one selfie and because I look "average" from the front, despite the fact that I look "Chadlike" from the side, her interest was presumably negated by seeing that front on pic as I've heard back nothing since

I'm definitely losing patience with dating apps. My journey to get my body more toned and lean and my facial features more chiseled and defined will continue, and I do know that when I'm at my leanest and fittest this should pay off hugely in terms of success on dating apps as well as in real life

But for the moment I feel strangely unsatisfied

What would you have done differently here? What am I doing wrong? Need advice. Thanks.
