You need to find someone else. You'll forget about her.
You made the right choice.
Seems like you are more in lust with her.

I do realise that I’m in lust with her every time I go back to her. But then things start going well to the point I think I may actually be in love with her the way I used to be in the beginning. But then I see so many of the other guys in college thinking the same way about her and it disgusts me that I was so easily lulled into it.

She likes the attention.
Don't you feel better without her and the pain she causes you?
Free yourself.
You had fun but there is no future. She will never change who she is and you will never feel comfortable with her as your partner.
Let her go.
Again. Find someone else.

Here's a friendly reminder to get tested - if you were in a long term, committed relationship, you probably had a lot of semi-protected/unprotected intercourse. And you were with someone who shows inability to plan long term, eg, more likely to engage in unprotected intercourse with random people.
Also, don't just get tested for the major diseases, there's plenty of bacterial stds that can show seemingly unrelated signs, but can be devastating if not treated for years.

Had a similar break-up, now almost a year and half ago.
First off, I don't know what kind of friends you have but in my culture them sending you that shit is considered a dick move. We want you to get to a point where you don't care anymore, sure, but that certainly doesn't/won't help.
Second, good on you to recognize the self-improvement part! Focusing on yourself is paramount. I was lucky, we ended it and I was living in a different city, so I had a good chance to have an absolutely clean break. It took me about three quarters of a year to be fully and finally over everything. That shit is hard. Don't let it get you down. I'd suggest going on a week-long escape or something on your own somewhere. Something that helped me was making a list of why she was bad for me/ it didn't work out to make sure I don't forget. The good news is subsequent breaks won't ever be as bad anymore. You'll have lived through the worst of it.
Third, a mental exercise, try to imagine her with other guys in bed, on vacations, whatever. I know you don't like it but that is what will happen and it seems like you've been avoiding to confront those feelings. Allow yourself to feel. I cried like a little bitch after the break-up. I cried when I thought about how it all went down, how I'm alone now, and how she would find others. I felt like shit for weeks but eventually realized that that won't stop me from having a good life. She has her life and I have mine, and that's that. Eventually I moved on.
Hang in there buddy, the only person who can shovel you out of this is you. The beauty is once you do, you'll feel freed like never before.

I don't see why you couldn't tell your friends "Yeah I couldn't give a shit about what she's doing. You don't need to report to me about everything she does."
Your friends will understand and fespect that if they are real friends.

This post had to be taken down because it appears to be focused on a specific situation or person. While Field Reports deal with specific situations and people, remember that the focus is different:
No worries though! Though the thread has been taken down, any conversations you have started here can still continue, and if you want to PM a mod to get their opinion on this thread, feel free to do so and they will still be able to weigh in.
For next time, remember that posts about a specific situational advice with a specific person are fine as field should be directed to Ask Seddit (/r/askseddit), not to be confused with Ask Reddit.
