I used to use this technique where on the evening before heading out I would make conversation with everyone I met. The idea is to force yourself to say something. But if you’re into this girl maybe back off and let her do the talking. Use the awkward pause and condition your brain to “say something” - two times that helped.

I’ve run into this problem too. I’m no amateur and have had pretty good success with women, but I still often run into conversation blocks. Usually this will happen in streaks—I’ll be on fire 3 nights of going out and the next 3 all my attempts will fizzle out.

I’ve found the best thing to do is stop asking questions and make assumptions. “You look like you had an emo phase in high school.” It might come off as judgmental, but most women know you’re being playful, and will see it as bold and assertive. She’ll either say no or yes. You can then take the conversation further from there. “Haha I knew it. You probably smoked cigarettes and hung out with skaters too.” Or conversely, “Oh, you weren’t huh. What kind of music were you into then? Probably Backstreet Boys.”

You don’t have to constantly make assumptions and tease them. I’ll layer in the standard questions when I truly am out of something to say, until I find another point of interest I can assume/ask/tease/relate about. This really makes it seem less like an interview style, and if they get a little ticked off, I tell them I’m just having fun getting to know you—which is true.

Drill this :

Talk for 5-10 mins in front of a camera or a mirror everyday after waking up, not allowed to stop for more than 3 seconds.

You will be a talking machine for the whole day.

Ask people engaging questions about themselves. Ask yourself what is it that they might find of interest? The easiest is themselves. So ask about their day, their job, their hobbies and dreams, etc.

When you don't know what to say next, jump on some detail of what they just said and build on it.

If she said "I used to surf everyday when I was in Mexico" you can ask about surfing, about Mexico, you can even stretch and ask about traveling, sports, the sea, etc.

You can do the same with things in your immediate environment "look at that building, it reminds me of whatever, you ever did whatever?" or with anything that comes to your mind.

Now everyone will tell you to make assumptions instead of asking questions, while it does make you sound more assertive, it's often way overrated.

How do I approach?
How do I get a number?
How do I talk to girls at college?
How/When do I kiss a girl?
Does this really work?

As for the last one, it is an answered question. There have been many posts on physical limitations over the years, including this one. No need to re-ask it.
