True, guy may think she doesn't see him like that and is naturally cautious and weary, and probably doesn't wanna be accused of anything in case you happen to be crazy (not saying OP is crazy, just an example). So yeah, if she's interested, and evidently so is he, then she should be up-front about it.

As a guy who spent most of his life kind of chubby and awkward but had a glow up senior year/beginning of college, looking back there were so many times where a girl was clearly interested in me but I was so oblivious to it and after a while they sort of stopped talking to me or acted weird around me because it probably seemed like I was an asshole. Not saying this guy is in that situation but some guys are just really oblivious like that

Sigh.. Its funny how when guys express their love/feelings, they're weird or the chick gets turned off and when they dont express their love/feelings they're still weird.
Somehow us guys can never win.
What im trying to say is, if he did express his feelings i guarantee you you would've lost interest. You should've also tried. Its a two-way street.
Unfortunately as much as id love to live in a Ross & Rachel world, we dont, because girls get turned off easily when the chase is over.
