Quick question: how should a conversation flow and what's your ideal?

Most replies back should be open ended for a response back. So if someone ask "What if your favorite food?" - Just answering "Tacos" is a close ended response. Where you can answer "Tacos, how about you? Have a favorite taco joint?"

Second thing is to always ask what you are curious about. This will continue to bring up new topics. Once you two fall deep into a topic the flow will naturally happen.

In general you want to get off of small talk quick (Like a little is fine to break the ice and establish some rapport in the beginning but past a certain point it is entirely unhelpful) and figure out the core of the woman you are dealing with.

As someone has already said asks questions which are open and which cannot be answered only with yes or no. Share some story it helps to not be just a Q/A. Try to be funny i know its easier said than done but at least try. In French, we say a laughing girl is half in your bed. if you are on a date and for some reason she or he does not speak much you have to talk about yourself to keep the conversation going. maybe that will make her/him think of something. At the very least, it will avoid the discomfort of silence. If something goes wrong I always turn it into joke it relaxes people. The key to success is to practice discussion is an art. If you making all the effort go to an other girl/boy it's not worth it. It's a conversation not a monologue
