My first true wake up call was a girl rubbing on my arm during a conference at 17. Let me tell you that most girls will not ask you out if they like you, if they get physical, giggle at your every joke, constant eye contact then those might be signs shes intrested. Sometimes I usually find myself activing different towards guys I like. Like usually I'm really loud and outgoing but I might be like awkward around a guy I like.

Always assume attraction, look for indicators of interest. Body language, eye contact, laughter.

Assume attraction.

Women are bad at giving clear signals. Men are bad at interpreting signals. Add these together and you get a lot of false negatives.

Men are also good at listening to the doubtful voice in the back of their mind. It latches onto any insecurities if you let it. Don't let your self-esteem taint your estimation of peoples' opinion of you. Seek professional help if you need to.
