A recent example: I went and introduced myself to a girl in town. She stopped, and had very friendly body language and voice tone, but said she was in a rush. But she made no move to leave and no change in body language. I asked if I could walk with her for a bit and she said she was just planning to go quickly to the shops and home. But even then she just was staying with me. So after a small moment I just said cool and wished her a nice day.

Now I look back there are a lot of things I could have said or done, namely just asked for a number. But it feels strange to keep asking for things like that, especially when there hasn’t been a chance to build any rapport with each other. But it probably is just a stupid feeling.

But why do you lot think some girls do this? Like it makes sense for a girl to accelerate away or turn away from you if she’s uninterested and gives an excuse to leave. What I described initially is just such a contradiction between words and body language that it just leaves me confused and a bit paralysed in the moment. What should I do?
