hey! previous alcoholic here. when you quit it makes everything harder, especially flirting since it feels like you have to learn it all over again, but it's worth it. honestly though, it's easier to have a clear view of what you're doing wrong and right when you're sober. you learn faster. it may seem incredibly daunting, but you learn to cope. you should absolutely quit, especially if it's messing with your health. best of luck to ya.

So this will probably be the worst thing I'll ever post: I was completely sober for 8 years, and it is so much fucking easier to meet women when you drink. I prefer quiet one on one dates and hate loud bars. But so many damn women loosen up after one or two glasses of wine, relax and get talkative, and that's when you can connect. That same woman will refuse to drink if I don't.

I will refrain from giving you advice, because telling 23 year old me to start drinking again would have killed me by 25. And I know how easy it is to tell an alcoholic to just drink in moderation, and that it is literally impossible for an alcoholic to do so. But at this point in my life I only drink on dates, and my friends actually do not know I drink. A glass of wine or two won't kill me, getting hammered three times a week might.

I refuse to advise you one way or another, just speaking from experience.
