We currently live in times of uncertainty. People are not sure what to believe and therefore leave everything up in the air, specially if it comes down to meeting up in person with someone they barely know.

What I’ve been doing lately has been the following: After creating conversation and seeing that there is interest I ask what is their COVID protocol? I tease if they are in complete panic over the pandemic and they’re still bunkering down or if they have gone out. I also ask what their greeting protocol is (I give kisses in the cheek) since I don’t want to make someone uncomfortable (I have met people who are not doing well with this lol)

It’s very easy to leave plans in the air so what I have been doing is that I confirm plans by sending them a screenshot of the reservation I made. Most places are doing reservations only due to limited capacity so I use this to my advantage. It lets them know your interest as well as reminds them that they have something to look forward to.
