So, many times on this subbreddit and internet I heard how this book is amazing. There is even quote on the end of the book saying "This is first and last book youre ever need on dating" on the cover of the book from this Reddit itself.
This is second book I read on seduction, first was famous The Game. And this is so different than what first so called Pick Up Artists are actually telling you. It very open, honest book about human nature, about shame, honesty, man - woman relationship, and it tells how rejections can be pathways to success and much more. It is total opposite of PUA stuff Ive read from times to times.

So I thought, it is so fundamental about basic human relationships, and its more about having better human relationship through honesty (people who read it know what Im talking about), that I thought, can it be used as a base to get more honest and better friendships?

I feel the base is same. Being needy with girls and with friends or partners in workplace is the same thing, its something what rejects everyone. And I know one friend who is honest with people and dont care what they think about him, he will tell very intimate, touchy stuff and wouldnt care what people think, and I feel that attracts more people to him. But when comes to girls, its whole other thing.

When I was a kid, most of my time I spent alone, without friends. after my 18th year I started to go to concerts and got drunk and alcohol helped me about my social anxiety and I had more friends and more chances with girls...and of course, I cannot drink alcohol my whole life. So when I got sober, depression hit me really hard. I have major depressive disorder, and general anxiety disorder...feeling that roots from that comes to my loneliness as a child.

And Im now 35 and I feel last 10 years my friends are constantly leaving me. And Im reading this book and saying, yes ive been needy and wanting attention with everyone, friends and girls, yes ive been dishonest with myself and have a crappy lifestyle, yes, I have big burden of shame in myself, yes, I cannot hold friends longer than couple of years.

I care a lot what think about me. I am approval addict, and love addict. I care about how many likes will I get on my new profile picture on fb, I care what people think on college/job about me, and this all creates neediness. I am very needy person, and dishonest. And this book tells you how you attract girls through honesty, and Im thinking does that apply to friends too?

tl;dr: does basis of the book neediness and being honnest with girls can be applied to make friends too?
