First year - focus on getting into organization/networking. Friends you make in the dorms or in class tend not to last but organizations are great opportunities to meet people. Don't bang anyone in your dorm, or at least your floor. Hit the gym, take your classes seriously, don't worry about missing out by going out and getting drunk all of the time.

Year two - Get involved in leadership within organizations. Start to figure out your major, solidify it and goals by the end of the year. Start to go out more, be frugal at the same time. Should be going to the gym and on a good schedule lifting. Should have a solid group of friends for every niche of your life.

Junior year - Get an off campus house/reliable roommates who enhance your life (think people that drive or add something positive). Focus on your major. Develop a new hobby if you have the time (being off campus allows you more freedom in most cases). Throw parties (not every weekend is necessary but at least one big one a year. You should have enough networking to pull a decent crowd combined with roommates pooled. Being at a party and being able to say you live there is a huge SMV boost). Should be taking care of your body and have a disciplined gym routine / intramural.

Senior year and beyond - Should be wrapping up and into a great routine by now and looking forward to moving on. Whatever reputation you have by now is what you created good or bad. Reap the rewards if you worked hard and played harder, you are at the top of your SMV if you've been working out, networking, and socializing for 3 years -and are in position to produce.

TLDR: Frosh - Network, create healthy habits Soph - Hit the gym, Study, Surround yourself with good friends Junior - Expand socially, become more independent Senior+ - Enjoy the fruits of your labor while looking ahead

Make as many friends as possible and network as much as possible. Go out solo as much as possible. When I went solo in college I had a much higher success rate than I did when I was with others.

Be frugal with your cash too. Too many idiots in college spending money they didn't have when they were already thousands in debt.

Study something that will lead to a paycheck and a career path when you finish
Set up whatever summer internships you need as early as you can
Keep your tuition and lifestyle costs reasonable while you are there
Consider joining a fraternity
Consider studying abroad for a semester and then backpacking around Europe or Asia for a summer
Consider playing sports, even club sports
Start making exercise a daily habit
If you don't already, learn to golf and play tennis and squash
Learn some game, approach often
Work hard, have fun

I'd generate less consumer debt. That credit card sucked the life out of a DECADE of my life.

I'd join a fraternity and network more. My network was the most valuable thing I got out of college.
