Been lurking in this sub for quite sometime.

I'm 19, not exactly shy but I take a couple meets to get comfortable with people.

Tried my first pickup today. Spent the entire day looking at potential dates but lacked the courage to walk up to them.

During the end of the day, thought I'd had enough of analysing and did end up going to one and didn't look back.

I think I was pretty confident as in I got my point across but I didn't flirt much apart from complimenting her looks. Stuff got weird when I left my hand out while introducing myself and she said that we aren't supposed to do that. I am pretty sure I was dumbfounded then.

Rejected me saying she doesn't deal well with feelings when asked for the number but I don't know why she said that. Didn't pry though. Said I made a good first impression although that could be just to pacify me. Seemed 17-18 or a bit on the younger side.

Not disappointed as I managed to speak up which seemed like an insurmountable challenge earlier although the rejection hurts a bit but that's fine.
