This post had to be taken down because it appears to be focused on a specific situation or person. While Field Reports deal with specific situations and people, remember that the focus is different:
No worries though! Though the thread has been taken down, any conversations you have started here can still continue, and if you want to PM a mod to get their opinion on this thread, feel free to do so and they will still be able to weigh in.
For next time, remember that posts about a specific situational advice with a specific person are fine as field should be directed to Ask Seddit (/r/askseddit), not to be confused with Ask Reddit.

Go for an open relationship

Friends with benefits is probably the best route. I’m in your same position. While I don’t want a relationship currently (enjoying my freedom/options in a new city, too busy to give a spouse the attention they probably deserve), I crave a slightly deeper connection than simply using someone else to get the satisfaction of having sex. I know a lot of people say this but it’s best to communicate what you want, and eventually you’ll find someone who understands/wants something similar.
I think it helps that I still actively “date” my FWBs. We don’t just have sex and part ways after, we’ll at the very least have coffee or do a couple drinks together. We often check on each other, occasionally do dinner and catch up on life things. But we certainly give each other space and the option to say “not tonight” and casually date other people. It’s key that there’s a mutual understanding that while each person involved doesn’t want a relationship, that we’re both human and have feelings/needs outside of body part + body part = feel good. The key is to reciprocate what each other is putting out. Don’t like what someone is putting out? Congrats, you’re single and there are plenty of other people to come across. The world is your oyster.
Thank you for sharing, this is really useful !

Screen men better and practice standing up for yourself more often. Could you potentially aim to meet people in person other than on dating apps? I have a feeling that these apps draw very certain kinds of people to them. (I know it’s hard in these times...)

My question exactly, are those not compatible ? From the answers, maybe what I am referring to is fwb after all. Those terms are just hard to discuss with people to truly define the relationship.

/u/tL9eUdcLaz, I have found an error in your comment:
“right but its [it's] the truth”
I recommend that you, tL9eUdcLaz, post “right but its [it's] the truth” instead. ‘Its’ is possessive; ‘it's’ means ‘it is’ or ‘it has’.
This is an automated bot. I do not intend to shame your mistakes. If you think the errors which I found are incorrect, please contact me through DMs or contact my owner EliteDaMyth!

What are some examples of them doing whatever they want and you brushing it off? Or what’s giving you the feeling that you’re being used?
Using my availability as a convenience

Play against their expectations. Don’t allow yourself to be as available to them. Scarcity, my friend.
