I’ve been in a scenario like this a few times, where a girl will be responding but when I bring up doing anything with her she’ll say some benign comment, like “funnnn.”

It seems doomed by this point, right? So, how do you avoid getting into this trap in the first place?

It’s happened most recently from a girl I met in public and she ended up flaking on a plan two days later with a pretty legitimate excuse, and she just kept snapping me. But no commitment to any plan since.

I’d like to avoid this situation where I put myself out there to take a girl out and instead of that being a bold move she admires she brushes it off. Then all successive times asking her out seem as trivial as the last.
