I’ve had women do things to me that I would easily be spending decades behind bars for doing to a woman.

Not my wife, she’s the best, but there are a lot of psychotic women out there that have a ‘rules for me but not for thee’ approach to abuse.

[–]BEEZ128 20 points21 points22 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This seems to be common unfortunately. From your experience, I think it would be valuable to share to the sub, exactly what type of red flags you’d look for early on in the dating stage, that indicates a woman is like this?

[–]EnlightGrowExpand 11 points12 points13 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think it’s behavioural and emotional red flags that precede any abuse.

Does she randomly act emotionally abusive? Does she get out of control when she’s drinking?

A woman who is “wife material” will make you feel safe, like you are the only man in the world (in her eyes) and will do anything in their power to see you happy and empowered to be a good man.

Women who have drug problems, can’t handle their alcohol and make you feel anything less than the main man in her life; probably aren’t going to work out in the long run.

Edit* a good woman will bring out the best man in YOU. Every couple fights, but are the fights controlled and sensible? I’ve never yelled at my wife and vice versa, but we have some pretty robust arguments here and there.

Previous women who went down the abusive path always acted unhinged or inappropriately during an argument…it will get to a point where they want more than words to get their anger out.

the first thought of an indoctrinated woman reading this:

"never happened"

and then the second:

"he must have deserved it"

Her loss ☺️

Same. It takes so serious self control not to wreck their shit once they start going crazy on you. If only we were held accountable to the same standard…

This one in particular that I am referencing, seemed to be trying to get me to be violent towards her.

The day after one of her silly antics she said “I really thought that was going to make you hit me…” or words to that effect, it was 15ish years ago now.

It was a lightbulb moment for me though. I just remember thinking ‘this woman doesn’t know me at all and how low does she think I am?’ Basically after that I left and never came back.

Men Fear Not Being Believed

Dismissal As many women in abusive relationships do, men may wonder who will believe them if they speak up. Societal images of abuse usually portray men as the aggressor. It’s difficult for many to see a man as a victim in his relationship. This is especially true if he’s physically bigger than his spouse. Golden, the professor who shares his emotional abuse story on the TEDx stage, shared in a separate interview that he recalls calling more than eight different sources for help and none of them had any resources for men. He said one therapist, while laughing, told him that men don’t get abused by women. This perspective is only amplified by the media. Men are fair game for slaps, punches, and crotch-kicks.

That is why.

Anyone who thinks an abusive wife is a laughing matter is a lost cause.

I upvoted this because l know it’s true ✅

And Male getting abused is not physical harm most of the times.

It is :

  1. Making fun of how you look.

  2. Comparing you to their friends, your friends, everyone on the face of earth.

  3. Intentionally fighting with you on small things and making you habitual to avoiding any fight. So that when you really raise any serious concerns you don't have enough strength to fight.

  4. Belittling you

  5. Intentionally spending more time with other guys.

  6. Gaslighting, blaming, or manipulating emotions to control or degrade.

  7. Controlling social interactions, restricting contact with friends and family.

  8. Threatening harm, leaving, or taking children away as a method of control.

  9. Taking control of finances, restricting access to money, or using financial means to manipulate.

  10. Damaging belongings as a means of control or intimidation.

You described a narcissistic pervert.

Just, you forgot the jealousy and dramas if you speak to someone of the opposite sex, whilst she does everything she wants and go girls nights out until early morning.

[–]Unable-Flight-9311 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Its not a narcissistic pervert this how the abusers are.

[–]Naughty-Spearfish 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What I was saying was that NPs behaves like this.

Taking control of finances, restricting access to money, or using financial means to manipulate

Is that even possible when you have your own job? 'Hun, cancel your bank account and make one in my name, thanks bae'.

[–]Lianides 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So story time.

My wife who has a history of abusive behaviour towards me got a bit angry at my on Saturday because I didn't want to have sex with her after she drank two bottles of wine that evening.

This kicked off an argument about how I clearly don't love her, how I don't know what I'm talking about, how I'm controlling (for apparently not wanting to have sex with her while she is drunk)

Then after a while she pushed and hit me a few times. When I told her that she is hurting me, she asked if AI was scared of her.

I honestly said yes, I'm was scared she would hurt me again.

The response. I am bigger than her therefore I can't be scared of her. I can defend myself so again can't be scared. When pointed out that if AI was to defend myself then I would likely end up in trouble she just laughed at me.

[–]Rhya88 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Why are you still married to her? A false accusation may be in your future...

[–]Lianides 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Despite the shit I put up with, I still somehow love her, or at least the moments where I recognise the woman I married. Plus we got kids in the picture, so if I want out, I won't risk losing the kids or leaving them to fend for themselves in that environment.
