Domestic Violence Injuries: Men vs Women Vegetable_Ad1732 April 23, 2024 23 upvotes /r/MensRights Most of the regulars in this sub are familiar with Whitaker et al 2007 (at Differences in Frequency of Violence and Reported Injury Between Relationships With Reciprocal and Nonreciprocal Intimate Partner Violence | AJPH | Vol. 97 Issue 5 (aphapublications.org) , which says 70% of non-reciprocal domestic violence is committed by women against men. But, few seem to realize that this study also says domestically violent women injure men 65% as often as men injure women. More specifically, it says "Injury was more likely when violence was perpetrated by men than by women (men=28.8% vs women=18.8%; AOR=1.30), and in relationships for which IPV was reciprocal versus nonreciprocal (reciprocal=28.4% vs non-reciprocal=11.6 %; AOR=4.41)."
