It seems like guys are already supposed to know this but I don't. Over the years, I have constantly wondered how good looking or ugly I am and I have mixed feelings about it.

Now I managed to finish college as a virgin which might seem to be something that would give me the answer to my situation except I noticed that college in the USA is more complicated than just that. It is about playing the social politics game, being in a certain fraternity, and having social status rather than about looks because college girls want to be with "popular" guys. I knew a few other guys who were considered good looking by people but claimed that they finished college as a virgin.

At times I have sat in cafes and noticed girls who would look at me and then as I looked back at them they instantly looked away.

I have occasionally had girls chat me up but it doesn't happen that often, these girls were strangers.

On the other hand I have had moments where I went to the bars in my city and was completely blown out, just this past Friday night I tried to approach these two blondes who were together and one had a look of disgust on her face as I tried to chat her up and she completely ignored me (being on her cellphone and pretending like I am not there).

I also remember a year ago when this short ugly guy who I was not on good terms with attacked me when I asked about my looks to a group of guys. The guy simply told me that "you're just not handsome or a pretty boy, you're not like (insert name of handsome guy)".

I stand at around 6'1, have a big nose but also a big jaw, my eyes are not exactly symmetrical, and I am ethnically brown (North African here, people ask me if I am Indian or Latino quite a lot since I don't look white and have darker skin).

Now I don't want to have my pic on the internet but what experiments or things can I do in real life to get an idea of where I stand on the looks scale?
