I myself prefer coffee/boba/tea/smoothie/ice cream dates because it quickens the dates where I feel like I could end it at anytime. It's cheap and I don't have to feel like I need to wait for them to finish their food or wait for some event to end. This thought process is probably equivalent to the perspective of the girl you're dating. Ask the right questions, ask the important questions, make a few jokes to determine the vibe. Sometimes one or both of y'all can be feeling awkward, a small and short date helps break the ice and make her feel she knows you better for future dates because she has already hung out with you once.

How old are you? If you are in highschool it is really hard to mess up a first date because no one really knows what they are doing. Just literally don't do things that would obviously drive someone away, also known as common sense. Don't overthink it, especially if it's a small date.
