I was less concerned about the fact that they allowed for sex selection (though the practice is questionable) than I was with their reasons for doing so. The article made a mention of certain women getting the “ick” factor is consideration of having boys rather than girls. It was also revealing how many put forth a lot of social reasons for wanting girls rather than boys by referencing a lot of areas where boys lag behind girls in terms of academic achievement which I take as an implicit acknowledgment of issues that men and boys face that MRAs often bring up. At present, IVF represents a minuscule proportion of births so this issue doesn’t represent a major MRA issue for now. But it should be monitored with concern.
