Sort this thread by controversial and there’s lots of pedophile apologists- lots of the “lucky boy- I’d have loved that to happen to me” mindset, and one particularly grim person saying “it’s not that bad but it would be if it was the other way round- men raping women is far worse than vice-versa”

recently, I (female 24)was the designated driver for my friend (female 25) when we went out with our group of friends from work. During our ride home from the bar that we went to, she revealed to me that she has been talking (both in person and over Snapchat) to one of the people that she works with (this coworker that I was speaking about is a 16-year-old boy) I’ve been friends with this girl for about a year and we’ve spent a considerable amount of time getting to know each other in and hearing her say that she was considering sleeping with this child, totally took me offguard and completely shocked me. Not really knowing what to do when she told me this information drunkenly, well also feeling betrayed that I completely missed her for a friend and not a creep, I immediately told her that it would not be okay sleeping with a child. I told her that it absolutely should not be happening due to the age gap (SEEING AS HE IS A MINOR) and also reminded her that the power dynamic is ridiculous, and she should be sleeping with people her own age. obviously I have zero desire to continue to be friends with her, but I’m worried about this kid and I’m wondering if anybody has any advice on what I should do next? I feel guilty because I feel like I didn’t do enough, but I really didn’t know what would be the next move— just because no child deserves to deal with the trauma that comes along with sleeping with somebody that’s that much older than you. Thanks- i’m freaking out.
