An apt title I guess, for what we are all trying to learn here. My problem is this; I can not justify putting any effort into meeting/maintaining my relationships other people (mainly girls but guys too) after understanding what they, or we, are really like.

Back story Broke up with ex-gf, typical started off because I didnt care but then caught feelings and went beta in it, moved away and we went LD. Then she wanted dick or who knows what and we ended. Second girlfriend I might add, but first serious one. This really opened my eyes to how they really act, and after finding this sub it really cements what Ive discovered. I do hate what I had become around the end of that relationship.

After that I started lifting, Ive lost 30 lbs and I look so much better, so much that when I look at my old self its dissapointing I was like that. Ive also done quite well in school, one of the top students in my class. Im not saying this to boast, but more on my road to self improvement I am having these small strides in some areas like fitness and looks, but its the social aspect with others that I am having trouble with, and have had since. Which depresses me a little, before I was a man who didnt care, had my own interests and I just dont feel that way anymore.

Now, I have a hard time putting myself out there to meet others, introduce myself to girls, ect ect. Im a likeable guy, i have a good sense of humor and people seem to have fun when they are around me. Even though I have quite a bit of friends, lately Ive had 0 motivation to try to keep up in contact with them. I have almost no trust in anyone, and I feel my actions are for naught.

The truth that is, that AWALT. I think about it, and some of the other lessons shown here and then I think that all these girls are just there to use you, lie to you or they are just full of shit, and they do have the pick of the litter, so why bother. I am trying to get through this logically, its how I think but I am getting no where. Lets just say that all this new information is quite alot to take in.

I am far from swallowing the red pill, im just starting. But I thought you guys may have a way have explaining how you came to terms with it and overcame, or explain it to someone like myself. Try not too tear me apart to bad.

Thanks
