I'm very new to clubbing, and I've found that I have no problem finding a girl to dance and make out with. But then we just kind of stay doing that on the dance floor for a while. She will eagerly give her phone number before leaving with friends but often won't respond later. I understand why.

Usually the way I hear escalation described is talking -> dancing and/or making out -> happy ending. My nights out are more like dancing -> making out -> more making out. So in my experience it's been very physical right out of the gate, and thus I'm not sure where to take it from there.

So what's the best way to capitalize on the moment and escalate from dancing? Ostensibly I need to communicate more if I want to leave with her or make a better impression, yet stopping the dancing and touching almost feels like a step backward in the moment due to that perceived priority order. So talking is probably the next step, right?

Should I offer to buy her a drink? Ask to find a table and talk? Say something to her right there to assess whether she'd be interested in something more?

Advice, lines, and anecdotes would be appreciated.
