Hi Folks,

I am close to 2 years into a very "simple" divorce, short marriage (less than 5 years), no children, both working full time, joint property sold.

The divorce should of been resolved in under 1 year but my ex wife is a narcissist and stopped responding for months on end. Her solicitor was also getting fed up with her anyway...I had no choice but to agree to a financial consent order where she got close to a 70/30 split just to try and get away from her! The other option was to fight her in court which would of resulted in thousands of pounds wasted and even more time! So I agreed to her demands.

The financial consent order was sent to the courts almost 6 weeks ago and still no update! I can't move on with life until this is done. It's getting very depressing waking up every day thinking today could be the day the divorce is done to find nothing has happened!

I've chased her solicitor who is also worried on why its taking so long, and I've spoken to the courts who said they will update me "soon". The system we have here is so bad, if we have both agreed to the order and seeked independent advice why do we need a judge to review the order....?

I guess what I am getting at is I hate that in a divorce so many things are not in your control...you just have to wait and and wait and wait until someone pushes a button for something to happen...
