How do I alleviate the guilt of a married (separated) woman that wants me?

Her guilt is based on her values, so find out what her value is that is causing the guilt -- don't assume you know (guilt=the thought that she is doing something wrong/immoral/hurtful.) I discourage you trying to alleviate her guilt; it's her issue to resolve, and if you try to resolve it for her, it could blow up ("You told me to...") or it could become your job in the 'ship. Instead, try some active listening. Repeat what she tells you and ask if you got it right. Then either empathize or sympathize. "I've been there before." "That sounds like a really bad situation." It takes an indeterminant time for people to work out their guilt/indecision, so think about what you want and what you are willing to do to get it. Plenty of right people meet at the wrong time.

I"d say it's baggage from the previous relationship, not guilt. She's separated. The marriage is over. The only difference between that and divorced is some legal baloney.

I had a 10 year relationship with someone who was separated. She'd long since been over the marriage by the time I met her. Likely you just need to give her the time to get over her marriage.
